Truck Tonnage Fell 1% in May

According to the For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index put out by the American Trucking Associations, truck tonnage fell 1% in May. In April, this report showed a fall of 10.3% in truck tonnage but ATA’s Chief Economist is not too concerned about it. There are still many indicators out there that the freight industry will recover faster than the rest of the economy because it didn’t fall as hard as other industries.
