Tolled Truck Bridge may be Coming To Alabama

A new bridge concept has been put forth in Mobile, Alabama that would divert big trucks away from Virginia Street and put them exclusively on a tolled bridge. Doing so would keep trucks hauling hazardous materials out of the Wallace Tunnel and would help alleviate delayed traffic during busy hours of each day. This $725 million project will be funded using money from a federal grant, the state, and a toll. A final toll price has not been agreed upon but will not be higher than $15 for trucks 46 feet or longer. Click the link below to learn more about this.
