Trucking Company Helps Students Go Back to School

Lamar Drew, a driver for G&P Trucking (based out of Columbia, S.C.) partnered with his employer and brought 600 book bags to the children at his former elementary school, Lakemont Elementary School in Petersburg, Va. Since founding “Lighten the Load” back in 2016, Drew has been helping provide book bags for different communities around the area. This year he donated 300 book bags and to his surprise G&P Trucking matched him. As an added bonus, each bag contained pencils, notebooks, and folders all donated by Drew’s family, fellow drivers, friends, and other students in the area.
