Out of more than 50 submissions, the Overdrive-Red Eye Radio Trucker Talent Search chose Jason Henley of Jemison, Ala., as one of its finalists. He and the other finalists will head to the Great American Truck Show in Dallas in August to compete during a live performance.
According to the rules, the entries had to be recorded in the person’s truck or house and could not be altered or enhanced. Henley recorded himself singing “Nebraska Drop n Hook” while playing his guitar on the side of the interstate the day the submissions were due.
