Making Reefers Better for the Environment

There is quite a bit of new technology out there for trucks to help combat greenhouse gas emissions that diesels put out. Reefers (refrigerated trucks) are no different and there are some new technologies to consider when trying to become more eco-friendly while keeping your load cold. Going electric seems to be one of the biggest changes within the trucking industry these days. Driving a reefer uses more diesel to keep that trailer cold and going electric would eliminate the emissions it puts out. Another idea comes from a company out there that is putting solar panels on top of trailers to eliminate the separate engine needed to run the cooler. The top of the trailer is empty real estate and companies are looking for a way to utilize that space and solar panels seem like a good fit. Click the link below to read about more ideas on how to cut back emissions with reefers.
