Massachusetts Exit Numbers are Changing

Currently, the exit numbers in Massachusetts are sequential numbers but starting this month, they will be changing them to correlate with federal highway requirements. They will now be using a mileage-based system, so if your exit is 130 and you are currently at exit 100, then you still have 30 miles to go. One of the main reasons they decided to change the numbers was for the trucking industry. Truckers rely on exit numbers to correlate with mileage so they know how far they still need to go. Also, failing to change over to the mandated mileage-based system could lead to a lack of federal funding. Click the link below to learn more about this.
