Joe Hylton came upon the scene of an accident one night along Delaware’s Route 1. Hylton pulled over and started directing traffic out of the way when one of the drivers from the accident started screaming that he couldn’t find his daughter. Hylton, also a father, noticed an empty car seat in the back of one of the vehicles and started searching immediately. He found the two-year-old in the nearby marshy area and fortunately the little girl was not harmed.
Later, Hylton got back in his truck and kept on rolling down the road. After arriving on the scene, the New Jersey Fire Department tracked Hylton down and the Delaware State Police awarded him with the Good Samaritan honor. Thank you, Joe Hylton, you are a hero.
