Hosted by the Arkansas Trucking Association, the best truck drivers and technicians gathered at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Rogers, Ark., to see who could be named winner of the Arkansas Trucking Championship. There were 9 classes for the truck drivers to compete in along with the technician competition. Grand Champion of the Truck Driving Championship was given to Dave Hall of ABF Freight, Trailer Technician Champion was given to Steven Frye of Walmart Transportation, and the Truck Technician Grand Champion was given to Larry Coatney of FedEx Freight.
The national championship will be held in Pittsburgh, Pa., August 14-17 and all first place winners in each truck class were invited to attend. The technicians national competition will be in Raleigh, N.C., September 15-19.
