National Guard Helping Move Truckers Along at U.S./Mexico Border

With thousands of commercial trucks crossing the Pharr International Bridge into Texas from Mexico, the wait times can become very long. In March, when customs agents were pulled away from the ports of entry to help process migrants at the border, the wait times became even longer. To help resolve this issue, the governor of Texas announced the deployment of National Guard troops. Truckers are hoping this assistance will help move the lines along faster because sitting still costs money.
