Iowa Cattle Truckers Encouraged to Take Free Course to Earn Cattle Transport Certification

Beginning Jan. 1, 2020, several meat packers will require cattle truckers to have Beef Quality Assurance transportation certification. The health and wellness of cattle is an important factor in transportation and truckers who get certified show that they are taking every precaution to ensure just that. The course will be offered on Friday, Aug. 9 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Carroll County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach office. Thanks to the Iowa Beef Industry Council, Tyson Foods, Beef Checkoff, and Cargill, this course will be free to those who preregister by Aug. 6.
