Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has announced the continuation of the Emergency Declaration exemption. The exemption will continue through December 31, 2020, for all fifty states and the District of Columbia.
Those motor carriers and drivers that are providing direct assistance to the relief efforts for COVID-19 are given temporary relief from Parts 390 through 399 of the FMCSRs. Those providing direct relief must be hauling livestock and/or its feed, medical supplies and equipment related to COVID-19, supplies and equipment for the safety of communities around the country, and food and grocery items for stores.
