Michigan Road to get an Upgrade for Big Trucks

A chunk of North Michigan Avenue in Carrollton Township, Michigan is getting an upgrade to eliminate weight restrictions for truckers. The majority of Michigan Avenue can already accommodate trucks during the spring thaw except for the north piece between Shattuck and Schust roads. With weight restrictions in effect every spring, reduced loads are only allowed on this part of the thoroughfare but since it’s already truck-heavy and the pavement is no longer stable, it was time for an upgrade. Besides rebuilding the road, wider shoulders, new curbs, new gutters, and ADA accessible sidewalk ramps will be installed. Click the link below to learn more about this.
