The nomination period is now open for Women in Trucking’s 2021 Female Driver of the Year award. This annual award finds an outstanding female professional driver who is a leader in the industry when it comes to safety and the industry’s public image. Sponsored by Walmart, this second annual award recognizes women who are making a difference in a once male-dominated profession.
It is open to any female who has driven at least one million accident-free miles and nominated by a carrier they have been employed with for at least three years. They must also enter a personal statement as to why they should be selected and have at least three letters of recommendation. The nomination period is open until Monday, February 1, 2021, and the winner will be announced on March 26, 2021, during the Salute to Women Behind the Wheel event at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Lousiville, Kentucky.
