ATRI Shows Operating Costs in the Trucking Industry Have Gone Down

The American Transportation Research Institute has released its 2020 update of “An Analysis of the Operational Costs of Trucking.” This tool gives insightful details about the finances of the trucking industry. This new update shows a slowdown of freight in the second half of 2019 along with a decrease in the average cost per mile. Turns out, that almost every major line item within the industry saw some sort of decrease. Given the driver shortage, there was a decrease in wages and benefits but universally, bonuses increased.
