ADOT is Building a Tool for Available Truck Parking Spaces

The Arizona Department of Transportation is teaming up with out-of-state sources to build a tool showing truck parking availability throughout Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas. The main goal of this project is to make sure truckers have a safe place to park and rest, not the side of the road, an abandoned lot, or in neighborhoods with narrow roads. This new technology will keep track of parking areas and spaces using different platforms to deliver the results. When the system is up and running it will be tracking 37 public rest areas with a total of 550 truck parking spaces along Interstate 10. This is anticipated to launch in 2023.
