I-70 Closures Could Cause Problems for Truckers

From Gypsum to Glenwood Springs, Colorado, Interstate 70 is closed due to the Grizzly Creek Fire burning a 25,000-acre area. There are alternate routes available, but area officials are talking about trucks not being able to get to communities in a timely manner. Detours cost trucking companies money because they can almost double the time and for a truck driver, time is money. For those getting supplies delivered, prices may be going up due to these extra time expenses truck drivers are going to be seeing.

So far, certain businesses have found routes that don’t delay trucks too much, maybe adding on a couple of hours to their deliveries. Click the link below to learn more about this and to find access to more information on the CDOT website.
