Due to massive fires, I-70 is closed in both directions between Glenwood Spring and Gypsum. There is currently no estimated time for reopening and a lot of detours have been put in place. Truckers with rigs over 35 feet have been asked to not use Independence Pass at any time. The road is too narrow and difficult for big trucks to navigate. Officers are keeping an eye on the Pass and have been ticketing truckers who are ignoring the ‘do not enter’ signs. View the full Travel Alert below for a map of detours.
