2019 Orders of Class 8 Trucks Hits Lowest Rate of Decade

In 2019, orders put out for new Class 8 trucks were at its lowest in a decade. In 2018 the number of bookings for Class 8 trucks was just under 500,000, and in 2019, the amount of bookings didn’t break 200,000. To go along with this dreary number, many truck manufacturing plants around the country laid off quite a few employees at the end of last year, with talks of some companies laying off employees at the beginning of this year. Who knows what 2020 will bring, but predictions are not looking good.
