A Trucker’s Story of Heavy Hauling for NASA

Skip is a heavy hauler who followed in his dad’s footsteps. Skip has hauled extra-large platforms for the Mars program, which is not a simple thing to do. You have to go slow, dodge poles, and more than likely have an escort to get you through tough areas. While hauling large, heavy loads, a mere 29 miles takes 3 hours to get through. Every large load is a bit of an adventure and knowing these pieces could send people into space is fascinating.

There are other trucking stories in the podcast linked below but you can hear the story about hauling for NASA starting at 9:56.
