Trucker Lingo and What They Really Mean to Say

Truckers, with their long-term usage of a CB radio, have developed their own language. It’s often used when dealing with hazards or the presence of law enforcement on the road. Here are some examples:

  • Bumper Sticker – This is a vehicle that is tailgating. With their lack of vision directly behind them, truckers rely on other truckers to let them know if someone is too close.
  • Cash Register – Roads that are tolled are often the quickest way for truckers to get where they need to go. When tolls have long lines, truckers speak up and let others know it’s a ‘cash register’.
  • Clean Shot – This is used to let other truckers know that the coast is clear of police and they can roll on through.
