During the Great American Trucking Show (GATS) in Dallas, the top four finalists for the ‘Transition Trucking: Driving for Excellence” award were named. This award is presented to America’s top military veteran who is new to the trucking industry and has made a successful transition from active duty into a commercial fleet. The winner will receive a fully loaded Kenworth T680 truck with a 76-inch sleeper. On December 6, in Washington, D.C. the winner will be announced during a ceremony.
The finalists are:

- Wade Bumgarner – U. S. Navy – Veriha Trucking
- Joseph Campbell – U. S. Marines and Army – Roehl Transport
- Steve Harris – U. S. Marines – Stevens Transport
