The Peach Truck is a business that transports fresh peaches around the country in such a timely manner that they are practically fresh off the tree when they reach your doorstep. It started in 2012 with 32 boxes of peaches, a ’64 jeep, and $30,000 in revenue all within a 12-week period. The peaches need to be fresh and delivered fast. This year, with their 12-week period ending mid-August, The Peach Truck sold around five million pounds of peaches and the logistics can be a nightmare.
With all of the new trucking regulations out there, finding truckers who are sympathetic to and are capable of delivering the peaches in a timely fashion can be quite a challenge. By using multiple trucks all over the country, getting fresh peaches to their customers can be tricky, but it can be done.
