Rhode Island Truck Tolls Collect Over $7 Million in First Year

On I-95, in the southern part of the state, two tolls in Rhode Island have brought in $7.2 million with higher numbers predicted next year. With pushback from the trucking industry, RIDOT confirms that they are following the legal rules when it comes to these tolls. The third toll will start charging truckers on August 13 and will span Route 6 in Providence. All of the money collected from these tolls will be allocated to bridge reconstruction projects throughout the state.
