In Maywood, Ill., James Apa, the owner of Third Coast Teaming Company has found some pieces of Maywood’s past while digging around his new facility’s construction site. The future trucking company will have a 6,500 to 7,500 square foot facility with a paved yard on St. Charles Rd.
Turns out, the site was once the foundation for the American Can Co., which was Maywood’s largest employer in the early 1900s . While digging, they’ve found an old horseshoe and pillars that were part of the foundation of American Can Co. With construction continuing, Apa is hoping to bring in 50 new jobs for the locals when everything is done.
