Starting July 1, the Virginia Legislature’s newest law will go into effect and the sales tax of fuel sold along Interstate 81 will go up. The tax on gasoline will increase 7.6 cents and the tax on diesel will increase 7.7 cents. Revenue collected from this tax increase will be used to make improvements along this very busy highway.
