CVSA Doesn’t Want any Delays on COVID-19 Vaccine Deliveries

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance has posted a bulletin asking for commercial vehicles carrying vaccine shipments to not be deterred or detained. The COVID-19 vaccine is kept cold using dry ice and the CVSA is asking commercial motor vehicle inspectors to not hold up these vehicles unless there is an obvious serious violation. Besides dry ice, some of the packages may contain lithium-ion batteries used to power data loggers tracking the internal temperature of the vaccine packages. With all of these time-sensitive materials, it’s crucial for these vaccines to get where they need to go without delay.
