FMCSA Offers Tool to Understand New HOS

The new Hours of Service regulations have just gone into effect and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has put out a new tool to help carriers understand how it works. The Educational Tool for Hours of Service (ETHOS) uses the duty status entered to identify where potential HOS violations may occur.

Clicking the link below will take you to the ETHOS where you can enter your data and get back helpful results. You input your Event Date, Event Time, Event Type, and click “Add Event”. They also provide examples for you to choose from. After you add your event, a chart pops up showing a “Record of Duty Status” for you to use to avoid violations. This tool is for educational purposes only and was made to help carriers avoid HOS violations.
