FMCSA Gives Longer Extension to CLP Waiver

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has granted a further extension for commercial learner’s permit holders. Starting July 1, 2020, CLP holders will be able to drive a commercial vehicle without an accompanying CDL holder in the front seat. The CDL holder must be in the cab of the truck and both drivers must have all prerequisites for driving commercial vehicles. This waiver extension will expire on September 30, 2020.
