A new directive for federal agencies will allow the collection and testing of oral fluids in drug testing programs. The Mandatory Guidelines for Federal Workplace Drug Testing Programs is published in the Federal Register and states that DOT (and other federal agencies) are required to develop programs based on these guidelines. With the start of the Clearinghouse and many ways to trick a drug test out there, new ways of finding drug usage is a necessity to making our roads safer.
