What Drivers Should Know About the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse will begin Jan. 6, 2020. This online and secure database gives real-time information about CDL holder’s alcohol and drug violations. Owner-operators must register in the Clearinghouse and is required to work with a third party to manage drug and alcohol testing. Employee drivers are not required to register but if they have any past violations or are seeking employment with another company must register.
