The ELD Deadline is Coming up and the FMCSA isn’t Offering Extensions

On December 17 all motor carriers subject to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s electronic logging device final rule must be using an ELD. Automatic onboard recording devices will no longer be allowed and those utilizing AOBRDs must have a fully functioning ELD installed by the deadline. The FMCSA will not be offering any extensions or exceptions to this rule and inspectors will be fully enforcing the rule on December 17. If a vehicle is not ELD equipped, the driver will be considered to have no record of duty and be put out of service for a specific period of time.

Time is up carriers and drivers, get those ELDs installed and operational as soon as possible.
