Fog is Not a Friend to Truckers

There is a lot of weather coverage out there about floods and high winds, but we don’t hear much about fog. Fog leaves us with limited visibility causing thousands of crashes each year. Besides trucks, it affects anyone on the road, in the air, and out at sea. This ‘cloud on the ground’ phenomenon is not easy to predict with weather radar and satellites and sometimes seems to come out of nowhere. Trucking companies lose around 32.6 billion a year due to lost hours in the fog and other forms of weather-related congestion. I guess, for now, stay out of fog-prone areas and go slow if necessary.
