COVID-19 is Changing the Truck Driver Hiring Process

There is a shift going on out there in the trucking industry that is affecting the way truck drivers are getting hired. With the closure of driving schools and agencies where you can get a driver’s license, trucking companies are focusing more on experienced drivers. Recent data has shown that hiring new drivers is down by 35% since the beginning of March. It also showed that hiring experienced drivers is down by 20%. With driving schools being down, getting new drivers to replace the ones who are leaving the industry is not easy these days.
