U.S. Xpress and its Rise in the Trucking Industry

U.S. Xpress was founded by Max Fuller and Patrick Quinn in 1986 with a fleet of 48 trucks. Now, it’s the fifth-largest asset-based truckload carrier by revenue in the nation with 7,000 tractors and 15,500 trailers. It has helped turned Chattanooga, Tennessee, where its headquarters are located, into a transportation town. In the video below, Max Fuller is being interviewed by his son Craig Fuller, the CEO of FreightWaves. Together they give a good rundown of how the company came to be, what they brought to the industry, and where they think the company and industry is headed.
