Truck Tonnage was Down in August

The For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index put out by the American Trucking Associations was down 5.6% in August. This is following the decline in July of 1.4%. According to the ATA’s Chief Economist, this shows that there is a surge in consumer loads, and industrial loads, the heavy ones, are lacking. When compared to the August 2019 report, the index contracted 8.9%. When compared year-to-date, the same time in 2019, tonnage was down 3.4%. Click the link below to learn more about this.
