Marijuana Bill Moves Forward but not for Truckers

The MORE Act has passed through the U.S. House of Representatives with a vote of 228-164. This act takes marijuana off the scheduled substance list in the Controlled Substance Act. If it goes all the way and passes, truckers will still be tested for marijuana usage. Even if it comes off the Schedule I list in the Controlled Substance Act, a small change to the bill allows the USDOT to continue testing for it in safety-sensitive transportation jobs.
