Let the FMCSA Know Your Opinion About Younger Drivers

The United States Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration wants your opinion about a new pilot program regarding drivers aged 18-20. The pilot program would allow drivers aged 18, 19, and 20 to operate commercial vehicles in interstate commerce. These younger drivers would have to have a CDL, participate in a 120-hour probationary period, and participate in a subsequent 280-hour probationary supervised period. They also would have to have operated a commercial vehicle within a state for a minimum of one year and have driven 25,000 miles. They would not be allowed to haul passengers or hazardous materials.
